Award in Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health - Level 1

This course is an introductory course only and does not qualify you as a Mental Health First Aider


This online course provides you with the knowledge to recognise potential early signs of poor mental health, to learn about mental health conditions, give you the skills to start a conversation and if necessary, signpost the person towards professional help.

You will learn:

  • What mental health is, why people develop mental health conditions and the role of a First Aider for Mental Health
  • How to offer appropriate information and practical support to a person presenting with poor mental health
  • How to recognise and manage stress
  • How to recognise a range of mental health conditions and behaviours

Before purchasing this qualification, please visit our Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health page. This outlines what is required to undertake the course. 

The minimum self-study time = 4.5-hours

Individual learners have 3-months from the date of purchase to contact us and arrange 2 x 1-hour LIVE Zoom guided learning sessions (a total time of 2-hours) and a 30-minute assessment with one of our facilitators. The sessions and assessment need to be done within a 2-week period.

If you are part of a workplace in-house group these will have been arranged for you and you will attend the sessions with your colleagues.
