First Aid for Youth Mental Health - Level 2 Watch Preview

This online qualification has been designed for adults supporting all children and young people up to the age of 18. It will provide you with the knowledge and skills to recognise early signs of poor mental health in young people and give you the skills to start a conversation and, if necessary, signpost the young person towards professional help.

Your Course Journey: Quick Guide

  • The course runs over 3 weeks.
  • You'll have two live Zoom sessions, each lasting 1.5 hours, guided by a facilitator.
  • Expect to spend a minimum of 6 hours on self-study through our online learning community, diving into resources and activities.
  • There’s a final assessment, taking just 30 minutes, to complete your journey.
  • If you've got the time and drive, you can even finish the course in under 3 weeks!

You will learn:

  • What mental health is, why young people develop mental health conditions and the role of a First Aider for Mental Health
  • How to recognise and manage stress
  • How to recognise a range of mental health conditions and behaviours
  • The First Aid Action Plan for mental health and how to to put one in place
  • The minimum self-study time = 5-hours
  • Each learner has a maximum of 45 minutes with a facilitator to complete a verbal 1-to-1 assessment via Zoom.
